Meet the Designer

K. Laine Collective is a print on demand shop ran by me, (Kelly Laine) Murkins, right in the heart of the Midwest.

For as long as I can remember I have loved to create. From art and design to crafts and home projects. I started with taking high school art classes, then in 2001 went on to Art College and learned how to create art on computers which was a whole new world for me. That is where I found my calling.

I started my graphic and web design business, Kelly Laine Design,  in 2003 after graduating college. I worked in the corporate world for almost 17 years until 2020 when I decided to pursue my dream of running my own business full time instead of the occasional freelance jobs I would get. (And it has been nothing short of amazing, I might add!)

Since my hobby of freelance turned into a solid job, I felt the need to create things as a hobby again and something that wasn’t considered a job. So I bought a vinyl cutting machine and sublimation printer to start making shirts for friends and family. I soon realized the need for a print on demand company to fullfill orders instead of keeping inventory and dealing with shipping. The print on demand route has helped me tremendously and instead of filling orders, I can focus on what I am good at…designing! I originally started selling on a 3rd party company but decided it was time to create my own website to sell on, which is where I started K. Laine Collective. 

When I am not working, I can be found spending time with my kiddos, binge watching Netflix, or doing some sort of home project. To help balance out my crazy life, I can always count on my incredibly supportive husband.
